(My Dad’ll hate me for posting a picture of him.Guess what? I don’t care.)
On Father’s Day I wrote a tribute about all the things that make my dad special.
Today’s his 55th birthday and, rather than smother him with more embarrassing soppiness, I thought I’d post a few things that remind me of him.
The truth is … I inherited one of the best things about my dad – A wicked sense of humour.
It doesn’t take much to make my dad laugh and I love that about him. He’s always able to crack jokes and see the funny side in a lot of situations. When I think of him, I always see him smiling or laughing. Nearly every photo I have of him has him pulling a silly face (See, Daddy? I could have posted those.
)
And one of the other things I inherited from my dad was his love of film. So, while I could write paragraphs and paragraphs about how decaffeinated espresso or coconut-flavoured anything remind me of him, I thought I’d post a collection of clips that we’ve laughed over together.
Because that’s how I think of you. Us watching films together … and you laughing. Birthdays deserve laughter … no matter how old you are.
So, while you’re waiting for your birthday present through the post, I hope these will make you a little bit happier today, Daddy.
Happy Birthday. I miss you. I wish I could be there today to spoil you. I love you loads and loads. xxxxx ♡♡♡♡♡
(I think one day I’m going to die laughing at this. It kills me.)
(All Jack has to do is laugh and it’s bloody hilarious!)
