Hola from Mexico!

Check out the bags under my eyes!

Do excuse the state of my face! I’m currently running on an average of 3-4 hours sleep a night so you’re seeing a product of complete exhaustion. :P

And apologies for the length. Good on ya if you managed to watch it all.

  1. I think I said on Facebook that I’m sorry your camera was stolen? Something like that anyway… It’s good to hear from you! I think that first 24 hours of “what the fuck did I do coming here??” is pretty normal. I felt like that when I went to France and Palestine both, and I wasn’t alone either time. Hell I even felt like that my first day going to NYC and that’s in the same country as me! I’m glad after that wore off, you felt better. Get some sleep!!! :D

  2. Terrible luck with your camera! I’m really sorry to hear that. Not to jinx myself, but I have never had anything stolen from me in Mexico, so I just can’t believe that in your first 72 hours you had that happen. Seems like you’ve moved on though…

Also, I think you will be ready for Mexico City after seeing San Cris and Oaxaca. If you wanted to look for a job in Guadalajara, I know of some places you might work, so let me know. Also, there are definitely Spanish classes in San Cris…and even private classes are pretty inexpensive.

Good luck with the end of your course, and I look forward to reading/watching more about your adventures. Cheers!

  3. Good to hear that you’re well and enjoying life in Mexico, even if your camera was stolen. With culture shock it’s weird how one moment you’re freaking out and the next you’re loving it, but I think it helps to ground you. All the best for the next stage in the journey!

  4. Sorry to hear that about your camera! Be carefull! :)
Can’t wait to hear your stories about Mexico, it does sounds you are having an amazing time there. :) Have a lot of fun!

  5. I’m glad to hear that you have made is safely to Mexico! I can’t wait to hear more about your progress. Please post soon so we know that you are doing okay!! Isn’t it amazing that while you are discovering a new country you are also discovering new things about yourself?!

  6. Hi,
I came across your blog by accident when searching for info about CELTA. I’m hoping to do a CELTA course soon myself and have SO MANY QUESTIONS. I was wondering if you could help? I would really appreciate it!
My twitter is shelleyanne88. Hope to hear from you!

  7. Hi, just stumbled across your blog via Ayngelina’s page. Sorry to hear about your camera getting nicked, but I’m looking forward to reading more about your travels in Mexico. I’ve been to the Riviera Maya (loved Coba especially), but am looking to explore more of the country, as I have a freelance outlet that’s focused on Mexico travels.
